This means nobody can open your files without knowing your secret password. Every file you upload is instantly encrypted with the Advanced Encryption Standard.
By now, many of you must have experienced an important file leaked while sending through a regular email, at least I have. Hence, I have stopped sending sensitive and confidential info in email messages or attachments. Now, to send my important documents I had to search for some new advanced security tool that can keep my file password protected. All in all, I ended up finding this little web-based tool that protects every sent file with password based encryption.
This file security tool uses a unique 256-bit key that is extracted by the password that you choose. This means that Send Files Securely can never view your files and in any way can never recover files if in case you forget your password. The files remain securely encrypted until you or someone you have given the password to retrieves the file.
On the homepage of the website, you will find an instruction to keep your password. The password should be as long as possible and use a variety of uppercase, lowercase, numeric, and special characters.
The best part is that you are not required to download and install any software.

- Click on “Choose File”
- Enter a password to protect your file.
- Confirm your password by re-entering it
- Click on “Secure This File”
However, one thing I disliked about this free file security service is that it allows to encrypt file size of up to 50 MB only. Nevertheless, as long as our file is completely secured and protected, I guess we can manage in small file size too. Go ahead and try Send File Securely free!!
