CloudDeck: just may be the mother of all SoundCloud desktop clients

CloudDeck: just may be the mother of all SoundCloud desktop clients:

If you’ve been following this blog, you may have noticed that we’ve been covering SoundCloud related apps quite a bit (e.g. our mention of Scup, the SoundCloud desktop uploader, and Cloud Player, which is exactly what it sounds like). We continue the tradition with CloudDeck, a free SoundCloud desktop client that is a kind of a combination of the two titles mentioned above; like Scup, it will let you manage and upload your own audio files, and like Cloud Player, CloudDeck is a media-style player for the very many audio tracks that can be found on SoundCloud, and a very nice looking and stylish one at that.
CloudDeck looks and feels very much like your typical media/audio player, with a tabbed interface, album art, a playlists tab, and even user-defined “Quick Tabs”, which pull content from SoundCloud based on keywords that you define. It even includes an audio visualization option (with many visualizations to choose from). The ‘My Cloud’ tab lets you manage your own uploaded audio files, your favorite tracks that you bookmarked, as well as the people that you might follow or those who may be following you.

But what makes this most interesting is the content itself; i.e, the stuff that people upload to SoundCloud (typically remixes and covers and the like).
The only drawback: it uses up a relatively high level of resources, which is probably a function of it being an Adobe Air application.
The verdict: this software is a must if (a) you use SoundCloud and/or upload audio files to it, etc., or (b) if you’re interested in finding some really cool music that you probably wouldn’t be exposed to via other channels. If you don’t see yourself in any of these two categories then CloudDeck may not hold too much interest for you.
Version tested: 0.3
Compatibility: Windows, Mac, Linux. Requires Adobe Air.
Go to the program page to get the latest version (~1.25 megs).
